SiMCare Diabetes named Finalist for Global CME Impact Award

Global Education Group (Global) and the Global Alliance for Medical Education (GAME) recently announced that AXDEV Group’s (AXDEV) “The European Performance Improvement in Diabetes Demonstration Project” (EPIDD) has received the inaugural Global CME Impact Award. Presented at the 42nd Annual Conference of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions in San Francisco on Jan. 27, 2017, the Global CME Impact Award is supported in partnership by Global and GAME. Smog Can Make Blood Pressure Soar: Studies

More evidence links air pollution with increased risk of developing dangerous high blood pressure. The findings stem from a review of 17 studies conducted around the world. Each assessed a possible link between blood pressure and dirty air related to common pollutants, such as vehicle exhaust, coal burning and airborne dirt or dust.

People with diabetes should first make sure that they have a regular eating routine. Having a source of fiber, slow-digesting carbohydrate, lean protein, and healthy fat with each meal helps to control blood sugar levels throughout the day. People should limit quick-digesting carbohydrates like white bread and pasta. Instead, they should opt for slower-digesting carbohydrates with extra nutrients like vegetables, whole grains, beans, and berries. These cause a smaller spike in blood sugar.
